A UNIQUE ARMY

Knowing the extraordinary measures the IDF will take to protect innocent civilians, Hamas deliberately positioned its military assets among the civilian population. They hid weapons in tunnels under schools and hospitals, placed rocket launchers alongside apartment buildings, then forced those civilians to stay in areas they knew would be attacked. They also instructed their people to report the lie that every Gazan killed was a civilian, even if they were actually fighters. Numerous Internet sites show Palestinians elaborately staging sniper victims and smashed ambulances, among other phony horrors. One of my grandsons who was a pilot and an expert on drones is now a farmer living on a moshav only seven kilometers from Gaza. Since he finished his nine and a half years of compulsory service in the air-force he does reserve duty one day every week (like every ex-pilot), operating drones over Gaza. The following are his words, written some time ago, but just as relevant today a...

THE TRUTH AND NOTHING BUT........

BUT how many people care about the truth any more? What will it take for the world to wake up to the fact that they have been royally duped! Genocide and famine are the creation of Hamas, to seek support from their supporters and useful idiots around the world – and the world media fell for it. The first time the name “ Palestine ” came into use was around 2000 years ago when the Romans invaded the Jewish nation of Judea. That, by the way, is where the word “Jew” came from. After the Romans occupied Judea, they called it Syria Palestina . Fast forward to the end of the Ottoman Empire. In 1917 and 1918, the area known as “Palestine” came under British control. In 1919, the League of Nations divided up the Ottoman empire and Great Britain was appointed to govern the area - establishing the British Mandate in Palestine. Out of self-interest and political motives, the British carved off a huge piece of Palestine and created Jordan. In 1947, the UN proposed to partition the rest...

A WORLD IN DENIAL

Image
It is inconceivable   that   the Arab media, which disseminates Israeli “atrocities” throughout the world, is blindly accepted by millions of people who have no knowledge of the true facts. Most news concerning Israel is biased, invariably falsified, distorted and not even properly verified by supposedly reputable sources, such as the B.B.C., CNN, REUTERS, the Guardian, etc. Currently, the world is concentrating on the war in Gaza, and the accusation by the Palestinians in Gaza of ethnic cleansing by Israel. Israel is a Jewish state. Its minorities are Muslim, Christian and Druze Arabs. Their numbers have grown steadily, along with the country’s overall population.  The Arabic    population in Israel in 1948 was 56,000. Today there are 2,178,000 Arabs living in Israel.   In areas under the control of the Palestinian Authority, everyone is Arab. Christian Arabs are a dwindling minority that fears for its security. The percentage of Christians ha...

REVISITING GAZA - I

Image
My family has had quite a long history with the Gaza Strip. My husband and I joined a newly formed moshav in the Negev, seven kms. from Gaza in 1960, where my four children grew up. My oldest son, who is a farmer, and his four married children, plus his youngest unmarried daughter, still live there with their growing families In 1949, Arab terrorists, known as Fedayeen were trained and equipped by Egyptian Intelligence to engage in hostile action on the border, and infiltrate Israel - to commit acts of sabotage and murder. The Fedayeen operated mainly from bases in Jordan, so that Jordan would bear the brunt of Israel’s retaliation, which inevitably followed. The terrorist attacks violated the armistice agreement provision that prohibited the initiation of hostilities by paramilitary forces – nevertheless, it was Israel that was condemned by the UN Security Council for its counter-attacks!   Since then, terrorism from Gaza has “rocketed”. We have experienced it all: su...

REVISITING GAZA

Image
Jews and their Israelite ancestors had lived in Gaza since Biblical times. An historic Jewish community existed in Gaza City prior to its expulsion by the British, for safety reasons (after many had been massacred), during the infamous 1929 riots by the city’s Arabs.   Land for the village of Kfar Darom (in the Gaza Strip) was purchased in the 1930’s and settled in 1946. It was evacuated following an Egyptian siege in the 1948 Arab-Israeli War. In1968, Yigal Allon presented an initiative for the founding of two paramilitary  settlements in the centre of the Gaza Strip. He viewed the breaking of the continuity between the northern and southern Arab settlements as vital to Israel's security in the area - which had been captured the previous year in the 1967 Six-Day War. In 1970, Kfar Darom was re-established as the first of many Israeli villages in the area. Allon's idea was ultimately designed with five key areas slated for Israeli presence along the length of the ...

GRANDMA'S ARMY IN DANGER

The “Israeli Defense Forces”   is the only army in the world to be named as such. Since its inception, it has never been Israel’s intention   to be the aggressor or to start a war.   Israel is not looking to enlarge its territory, to become an Empire, or to make converts.   There are 56 Islamic countries, 125 predominantly Christian countries - how dare the Jews claim the right to have a country of   their own, and such a big one! People are used to the Jews being helpless, homeless, and defenceless.   That has been our role in the world for the last 2,000 years. For days, the civilized world has been steeped in stories of the unbelievable barbarity perpetrated by Hamas in Israel. And yet, there is still an international political regime, including academia, that romanticises so-called Palestinians and now blame Israelis for being brutalised. How can one rationalise the murder of close to 1,400 individuals, including rape, decapitating babies...

GAZA REVISITED

Image
The Gaza envelope   ‎   (“Otef Aza” in Hebrew), refers to the region of  Israel  surrounding the  Gaza Strip , to the depth of a few miles (7 kms.), mostly agricultural settlements such as  Kibbutzim  and  Moshavim . These Confrontation-line Communities compromise of   approximately 55 settlements, with the addition of the small town of Sderot. Since the  Second Intifada , and especially since Israel  withdrew unilaterally from all settlements and bases in Gaza  in 2005, the communities in the area surrounding the Gaza strip have been suffering from incessant  terrorist attacks - such as infiltration attempts,  mortar  shells and  Qassam rockets  . 13 years ago, Israel withdrew from Gaza and transferred the entire coastal territory to the Palestinian Authority. In 2007 Hamas violently seized Gaza from Abbas and the PA and has since initiated or provoked three major conflicts with Israel. For ...
